UPDATE: Bach Cello Suites
A few additions to recommendations
Thank you to Luca, one of my readers, for pointing out two excellent recordings of Bach’s Cello Suites I had not mentioned in my original post. The first is the outstanding 2006 recording by the Israeli cellist Gavriel Lipkind on his own Lipkind Productions, a terrific recording full of individuality and spark which is being added to the recommended list. I am also adding the very fine 1985 recording by Austrian cellist Heinrich Schiff on Warner to the honorable mention list.
