And Maria Joao Pires with Abbado and The Chamber Orchestra of Europe? For my money she deserves to be on this list
I’m so sorry for the delay in replying, I have been traveling for several days. I really appreciate your message, especially as I don’t know how I neglected Grimaud’s recording with Salonen, but as you say it is terrific and deserves to be recommended (even though my beloved trumpet triplets are somewhat recessed in the first movement). When I edit my post to include it, would you mind if I mention that you brought it to my attention? Thank you!
The most recent Grimaud recording that you said is harder to find is on an album called “For Clara” and I found it on the idagio streaming app. I must say I think the one you sent me is actually better and has better sound.
I am not as keen on the Pires with Abbado, though her playing is beautiful. For me it lacks some drive and excitement, but she is thoughtful and has some really lovely moments. I felt the same way about her recording with Gardiner, although the Abbado is better. Just my thoughts.

Interesting, I was not aware. I would prefer to buy CDs in order to support the artists and labels more, as well as the benefit of having the liner notes. But the streaming services are an absolute must for me in terms of the range of recordings available and trying to be as comprehensive as possible with reviews. The recent Grimaud-Guzzo version in CD exist only in a deluxe edition of “For Clara” not easy to find if not from the Deutsche Grammophon site.
