UPDATES: Stravinsky and Grieg recordings
Thank you to a few of my wonderful readers for pointing out a few superb recordings I unintentionally left off recent posts:
First, the recording of Stravinsky’s Petrouchka by the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Eliahu Inbal (Warner 1989) recorded at the The Maltings in Snape, UK has outstanding sound and some exciting moments. While I didn’t add it to my recommended list, it fully deserves an honorable mention and so I have added it to that list on my updated post.
Second, the recording of Grieg’s Piano Concerto by Philippe Entremont and The Philadelphia Orchestra under Eugene Ormandy (Columbia/Sony 1958) is a terrific recording with both Entremont and Ormandy at their best. This one is definitely recommended, and as such I have added a brief review of it to the recommended list on my updated post.
I am appreciative of the many insightful and helpful comments from readers, and thank you again for your support.
