The Top 75 Conductors Series
#6: Daniel Barenboim
________________
Welcome back to the Top 75 Conductors! Remember we are proceeding down the list in alphabetical order by last name, and at #6 we arrive at Argentine-Israeli conductor and pianist Daniel Barenboim (b. 1942). Barenboim is one of the most interesting living conductors on the list, although now at the age of 82 he has greatly cut back on his conducting engagements for health reasons, and recently announced he is suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. Both as a pianist and as a conductor, Barenboim has left an indelible mark on the world of classical music.
