The Best Classical Albums of 2024

Album #9

Concerti per una vita

Antonio Vivaldi

Théotime Langlois de Swarte, Violin

Le Consort

Label:  Harmonia Mundi

Released: February 2024

________________

This double album of Vivaldi violin concertos and various other extracts has to be the most enjoyable Vivaldi album I have heard in many years.  The young and exciting French Baroque violinist Théotime Langlois de Swarte is joined on the album by the rest of the ensemble Le Consort of which he is a part.  Le Consort was founded in 2015 in Paris, and has released a number of noteworthy albums, mostly on the Alpha label.  But this new release is on Harmonia Mundi, and the entire production is top notch.
